The stories explain in the words of our nation’s oldest veterans — male and female — the sacrifices they made for their country around the world from 1941-1945. Stories are distributed between the Army, Navy, Army Air Corps, Marines. Two WASP stories stand out as those among the little more than 1,000 women who completed flight training and took over jobs in the US which allowed more pilots to go overseas. An Army nurse tells about working in hospitals in France and Germany during and after the war.
